2nd Annual Tina's Turn Out scheduled for September 15, 2012

Our inaugural event in 2011 was a great success. After the first Tina's Turn Out, the Tina's Heart Scholarship fund exceeds $9,400 - well on our way to the $25,000 needed for endowment! Please join us in Orlando on September 15, 2012 for the 2nd Annual Tina's Turn Out. Hope to see you there!

Tina's Turn Out planned for September 24, 2011

We are tentatively scheduled for September 24, 2011 at Lake Eola Park, the Forum (across from Panera Bread) from 8:30-11:30. Set-up and last-minute registration will start at 8:30, and we will start the walk/run at 9:30. I will do another post and put the registration and sponsor forms here for people to download and send in after the park rental fee is paid and we are official.

Missing you

This is a tough day; it has been two years. I can't even find the words. I love you, Tina.

Once you are there, click on ">>>GIVE NOW Make a Donation" in the middle of the page on the right side. Enter your personal information, and then click the Continue button at the bottom of the page. In the Designation drop-down box, select "Tina Collyer Memorial EMT Scholarship, Tina's Heart," then enter your credit card information, and click on Proceed to Verification. I met Tina my freshman year at FIT. We shared so many memories over the years. She always made me laugh. And she was the kind of friend you knew would be there when you needed her. We were roommates in Orlando when she decided to become a firefighter. It changed her life and made her happy. She loved helping people and was so frustrated when she got sick and could no longer do that. Tina lived life to the fullest and always gave more than she received.

On the one-year anniversary of her death, I still have trouble believing that she's gone. I miss her very much, but I know her spirit lives on in all the lives that she touched.
